Description
Originally from New York, William Pomeroy, has written extensively on the political struggles in the Philippines. He has an extensive knowledge of the country, having been stationed there during WWII as a soldier in the U.S. Army. After the war, he stayed in the Philippines, marrying a Fillipina anti-colonial leader and participating in the Communist-led Huk resistance movement. Eventually, along with his wife, he was captured and held as a political prisoner for 10 years. After his release, Pomeroy and his wife moved to England, were they continued to work for the cause of true independence. Presented here is a detailed analysis of Philippine resistance to colonial rule from someone who participated.
